Muncie Multi-Sport is proud to partner with American Health Network to host the ‘Muncie May Triathlon and 5k Run/Walk.’ This is the 1st event in the NEW Triton Brewing Indiana Triathlon Series. The event will be located at Prairie Creek Reservoir Muncie, Indiana on May 12, 2012. The 2 triathlons, 2 duathlon races, Aquabike and 5k Run or Walk races will start in the lake or on the road; 400 yards or 1,500 meter swims, the bike is a 1 or 2 lap course using the beach road or Gates Road, Inlow Springs, Burlington and 650 East and the runs and walks will be held south of the reservoir beach parking lot on Gates, 650 East and 461 East near the Redtail Conservancy. Traffic will be restricted but not closed for the athletes except for right in front of the beach parking lot from 7:30am-Noon.

Expected attendance for the event will be over 400 athletes, 150 volunteers and hundreds of spectators for those registering early at bit.ly/IJ4l0k. While race registration closes online at 1pm, you can still register until May 11 at Stoop Automotive Group from 3-7pm and race day from 6am-7am at Prairie Creek Reservoir. Teams of 2-3 athletes for either the duathlons or triathlons are still available and encouraged. The minimum age for all races is 13 years old and are determined by the participants age on December 31, 2012. All participants will receive an event label tech t-shirt and awards will be given out by male/female age groupings for the 5k and Triathlon.

Included in the series is the MidEast Regional College Championships on Sept. 1 race. The series has age group series awards, points and gifts in three separate categories of triathlon, duathlon and aquabike for men and women.
