Summit Lake Triathlon & 5K Run/Walk
It’s not too late to sign up for one of Indiana’s best and most beautiful triathlons with race day registration at the Lake from 6am-7am on July 28 or at the Henry County YMCA on Friday July 27 from 3pm-7pm! The Summit Lake Sprint Optimist Sprint Triathlon and 5k Run/Walk is sponsored by our great friends at the Henry County Hospital and the New Castle Breakfast Optimist Club features four great races:
Sprint Triathlon- 400yard swim / 20k bike / 5k run
Sprint Duathlon- 5k run / 20k bike / 5k run
Sprint Aquabike- 400yard swim / 20k bike
5k Run/Walk- 3.1 miles
The entire event is professionally staffed by Muncie Multi-Sport, Inc.and is the 6th race in the Triton Brewing Indiana Triathlon Series along with many volunteers from the hospital and elsewhere. It features professional monitoring by a USAT professional and will have Henry County police available at road intersections. All of which makes for the safest and most enjoyable event you can find!
This event is the 6th race in the Triton Brewing Series which features 8 races in total with point scoring in 3 divisions and age groups all with the chance to win great prizes. It’s not too late to make an impact here either!

We’re excited about our partnership for this event and hope it will inspire many in our community to get involved and to participate as an athlete or a volunteer. The variety of offerings makes it doable for all levels of fitness,” says Hospital President and CEO Paul Janssen. “We ran an employee fitness contest this year and used the Triathlon and 5k Run/Walk as a way to motivate employees to get started and stay on track.
